Terms of Service
Rules for InstructorLane accounts, acceptable use, instructor records, pupil access, service availability and termination.
Effective 27 August 2026. Contact InstructorLane support or email [email protected] for service, billing and data-protection enquiries.
Service provider and agreement
InstructorLane is supplied as a UK cloud software service under the InstructorLane name. By creating an instructor account or using a connected pupil app, you agree to these terms and the linked privacy, subscription and AI notices.
What the service does
InstructorLane provides administrative tools for lesson planning, pupil records, progress, booking requests, messages, money records, reports and optional AI drafts. It is independent of DVSA, DVLA and GOV.UK and does not replace official guidance, professional judgement, tax records, insurance requirements or legal advice.
Accounts and security
Instructors must provide accurate account information, protect credentials, control authorised devices and tell us promptly about suspected unauthorised access. Pupil connections must be created only for the intended learner and may be revoked by the instructor.
Instructor responsibility for records
The instructor is responsible for the accuracy, lawfulness and professional use of pupil information, progress assessments, lesson notes, payment entries, messages and exports. The product assists with organisation but does not certify the accuracy or regulatory sufficiency of a record.
Acceptable use
You must not bypass access controls, access another workspace, introduce malicious code, interfere with the service, upload unlawful material, misuse pupil information, impersonate another person or use the product to cause harm. Reasonable security testing requires prior written permission.
Intellectual property and licence
We grant an active account a limited, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to use the service for lawful driving-instruction administration. InstructorLane branding, software, design and documentation remain protected. Users retain rights in information they lawfully submit.
Availability, updates and exports
The service may be maintained, improved or temporarily interrupted. We take reasonable care with cloud storage but recommend regular use of available exports as part of the instructor’s own continuity arrangements. Features may change where necessary for security, law, compatibility or product improvement.
Suspension and termination
We may restrict an account for security risk, unlawful use, serious breach or payment failure. Trial or subscription expiry normally pauses protected functions without immediately deleting stored workspace data. Users may request account closure subject to identity verification and legal retention.
Liability and consumer rights
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limits statutory consumer rights. To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided for administrative support and we are not responsible for indirect loss, lost profit or professional decisions made without appropriate verification.
Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the law applicable to the customer in the United Kingdom, with courts having jurisdiction as required by consumer law. Contact [email protected] for service issues or formal notices.
