Who is responsible

InstructorLane and LearnerLane are currently offered under the InstructorLane trading name. The contracting operator is TRANSAD HAULAGE LTD, registered in England and Wales under company number 11689858, with its registered office at 33 Atlas Street, Ashton-under-Lyne, United Kingdom, OL7 9BB. We act as controller for account registration, authentication, service security, subscription administration, support and our own legal duties. An instructor or driving school normally decides why pupil lesson records are used and acts as controller for those records; we normally process them on its documented instructions under a Data Processing Agreement.

Information and purposes

Depending on the features used, we process instructor identity and contact details; account, workspace, pairing and device identifiers; authentication and security records; subscription and transaction references; support and refund correspondence; and the pupil information an instructor chooses to enter, such as contact details, lessons, availability, progress, notes, reports, messages, booking requests, files and balances.

We use account data to perform the service contract, payment and accounting data for contract and legal obligations, and proportionate connection or security records for our legitimate interest in protecting the service. Pupil records are processed for the instructor controller's stated purposes and lawful basis.

Sharing and international processing

Workspace information is available only to authorised users and the paired learner for fields intentionally shared by the instructor. Service providers support hosting, storage, billing, communications, push delivery and optional AI. Their current roles are described in the service-provider list. Restricted international transfers use an applicable adequacy regulation, UK International Data Transfer Agreement or UK Addendum and transfer assessment where required.

AI

AI assistance is optional, off by default and started by the instructor for a focused drafting task. The instructor reviews the result and decides whether to use it. The reported RC does not automatically change a learner's progress from an AI output. See the AI Notice.

Retention, deletion and rights

Data is retained only for the approved service, security, accounting, dispute and legal periods. Subscription cancellation does not itself erase an account. Use the in-app deletion control or the public deletion route. Subject to legal conditions, people may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection and portability. We normally respond within one month and explain any lawful extension or limitation.
